For comparisons sake Im running an i5 2320, 12GB RAM, and an R9 270x, and even with the large RAM and fairly powerful GPU, my box struggles with Dolphin because the CPU just isnt fast enough.

Basically where a normal modern game is going to be like 75 GPU 25 CPU, leaving the CPU with enough time to do the streaming stuff too, emulation is more like 75 CPU 25 GPU.
